On Sunday morning (19), at the Moça Bonita stadium, Mengão's youth team participated in a friendly in celebration of Women's Month. The match, played against Bangu, ended 2-0 for Rubro-Negro. The goals were scored by striker Duda, still in the first half.
The game
With several younger players on the field (the main U-20 team trained for the upcoming Brazilian Championship match), Flamengo took the initiative from the opening minute and created several opportunities before the technical timeout. In the 22nd minute, after a good play by Kaylane Vieira, Duda Domingos burst into the box and opened the scoring. Soon after, Kaylane won a challenge and passed it back to Duda, who made no mistake: 2-0. The team almost extended their lead with a good play by Dudinha, but the goalkeeper saved. The first half ended like that.
After the second half, coach Sergio Carnevale made changes, and the game remained under control. Without any scares, the Meninas da Gávea created a dangerous opportunity with a Giovana Alves free kick and, in the intense heat, managed the result on a day when the biggest winner was Rio de Janeiro women's soccer.
