Carol Pereira, Maria Peck and Tainá are promoted to the main team
Raised at the club, defender, attacking midfielder and goalkeeper carry out their first training session with the group
By Rafael Rezende - inIn training this Thursday (06), Flamengo/Marinha gained new faces this season: Carol Pereira, Maria Peck and Tainá. The three arrived at Flamengo last year, to join the U-18 team, and now they are also officially part of the professional squad.
Carol, a native of Macaé, is an 18-year-old defender. She started playing soccer at age nine in her hometown and has also played beach soccer and futsal. One of coach Marcos Gaspar's most trusted players in the youth team, she even made the bench for the first team in some matches in the Campeonato Carioca. She stands out for her excellent positioning.
At just 16 years old, Maria Peck quickly assumed the role of number 10 when she signed a contract. Skilled and full of personality, the attacking midfielder is the club's all-time top scorer in the youth team, with 17 goals. In 2019, she debuted for the senior team at the age of 15, scoring a goal in a match against Colonia/Guapimirim. Another important fact is that she was the first player from Mais Querido to be called up to the Brazilian U-17 team.
Tainá, 17, has already participated in some activities when only Gabi Croco was eligible, but has always received positive reviews from coach Antonio Bezerra. Tall and with good reflexes, the goalkeeper is a promising prospect for the club and will gain a lot of experience sharing training sessions with Kaká, a five-time Rio de Janeiro and Brazilian champion.
