Qualified! Flamengo/Marinha defeats Inter 2-0 and advances to the semifinals

On Saturday afternoon (24), at Gávea Stadium, Flamengo/Marinha beat Internacional 2-0 in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women's Championship. Playing at home, the Meninas da Gávea had complete control of the game and achieved victory with goals from Larissa and Ju, both scored in the first half.
The game
The match began with both teams looking to attack, but they were hampered by strong marking on both sides. In the 7th minute, Flamengo's Larissa received a good pass from Rafaela and shot on goal, but the goalkeeper saved it. And Flamengo continued to press. In the 19th minute, Daiana won the ball back and took a shot from distance. The ball sailed over the opposing goal. In the 34th minute, Flamengo opened the scoring. After a free kick from Ju, forward Larissa rose higher than everyone to head the ball into the net: 1-0. And there was still time for one more! On a move down the right, Ju received the ball at the edge of the box and shot, the ball hitting the goalkeeper's mound and eluding the goalkeeper: 2-0 Flamengo!
The second half began with the Meninas da Gávea passing the ball around in the attacking midfield, trying to find space to score a third goal. The Colorado team also tried counterattacks to get the first. In the 22nd minute, Larissa arrived on the attack and shot well on goal, forcing the Colorado goalkeeper to make a good save. The Mais Querido, with the majority of possession, tried to reach the Colorado area with crosses, which were intercepted by the Rio Grande do Sul defense. And there was no time for anything else! The game ended with the red-and-black team's qualification for the semifinals guaranteed.
With this result, Flamengo/Marinha will face Corinthians in the Brasileirão Feminino semifinal. The dates for the matches are yet to be determined.
