With an eye on the future of women's football, Mengão will face a new challenge starting tomorrow (6). Represented by younger athletes from the U-20 category, Mais Querido will play the U-17 Carioca Championship and the first match will be against Bangu, at 14 pm, at CEFAN.

The young squad features Unifoot Diamond Pro Cup champions Ana Donato and Laís, forward Ingrid Santos, who excelled in the Brazilian Championship in April, and midfielders Bruna and Myla, also well-known. With a long-term focus, the club has made several signings that will be seen on the field: Alice (defensive midfielder/midfielder), Kaylane Vieira (attacking midfielder), Larissa (attacking midfielder), and Isabela Nunes (left-back). Alice and Larissa, for example, have already played for the national team, Isabela won the CONMEBOL U-14 Development League, and Kaylane is considered a promising young player from Rio de Janeiro.

In a quick chat, André Rocha, coordinator of the sport, explained the main objective of participating in the tournament and stated that the focus is to train and win.

"We're starting the State Championship with the youth teams, and this is important for our development process. At this stage, we strive to provide opportunities for as many athletes as possible in each match. And, as expected, we hope to bring this unprecedented title to Gávea," he said.
