In the 11th round of the Brazilian Women's Championship, Flamengo/Marinha beat Grêmio 2-0 on Monday night (28) at the Giulite Coutinho stadium, in Edson Passos. The goals for Mais Querido were scored by top scorer Rafa Barros (2).

O JOGO
Flamengo/Marinha started the first half looking to maintain possession in their attacking half. In the 6th minute, Ana Carla took a shot from outside the box, but the ball sailed over the goal. In the 13th minute, Mengão almost opened the scoring. Flávia received the ball on the right edge of the box, turned, and unleashed a powerful shot. The ball hit the crossbar.

With the majority of possession, the Meninas da Gávea dictated the pace of the match and attempted to attack from the wings. Defensively, the red-and-black team managed to quickly regroup and didn't give Grêmio any space to play the ball.

In the 25th minute, Rafa Barros received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a low shot, but the goalkeeper made a good save. In the 29th minute, Mengão took the lead! Rafa Barros was released on the right, entered the box, and shot hard, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 1-0. In the 41st minute, Grêmio created a dangerous opportunity and forced Kaká into a great save. The first half ended with Flamengo ahead.

At the start of the second half, Grêmio attempted a comeback and began to pressure the red-and-black team in their own half, but the defense remained well-positioned and managed to shut down the Rio Grande do Sul team's attacks. In the 10th minute, the red-and-black team nearly extended their lead. Aryane provided a beautiful backheel assist to Patrícia, who fired a powerful shot from inside the box, which the goalkeeper made a great save. Rafa Barros then attempted a shot from outside the area, giving the Grêmio goalkeeper a hard time.

In the 20th minute, Mengão scored the second, again through Rafa Barros! The forward received the ball at speed on the right, burst into the box, and unleashed a powerful shot to extend the lead: 2-0. Despite the advantage, the Meninas da Gávea didn't slow down and continued to create attacking opportunities. Dominating the match throughout, Flamengo/Marinha put in a strong performance and left the field with three more points, crucial in the fight for qualification for the next stage of the competition.
