Victory secured and three more points in the bag. That's how Flamengo/Marinha left Gávea this Sunday (8), when they faced Audax in the Brazilian Women's Football Championship. With a penalty goal from Larissa at the end, the red-blacks achieved an important result in the rest of the tournament.

Flamengo reached 18 points, with five wins, three draws and one defeat in nine Brasileirão games.

The match was tough from start to finish. With a strong start and solid team play, Flamengo/Marinha threatened more, forcing Audax to play more defensively. As a result, the Flamengo defenders barely suffered from the chances created by the São Paulo team, while the attack sought opportunities to open the scoring.

However, chances often fell to the opposing goalkeeper or a well-positioned defense, making it difficult to break the deadlock. Despite battling hard and pressing hard, Flamengo couldn't break the deadlock, and the game went into halftime with a 0-0 draw.

In the second half, Audax tried to replicate the positives of the opening minutes and improve its attacking performance, but ultimately needed to work harder on defense. With good opportunities from set pieces, Audax threatened goalkeeper Kemelli on three occasions, but nothing the red-and-black player couldn't handle.

Coach Ricardo Abrantes therefore made substitutions, bringing on Scarlett (who later left the field injured after a tough challenge), Patrícia, and Nathane. The changes gave Flamengo more mobility, which saw them more attacking and closer to the goal. In the final minutes of the match, an Audax player committed a hard foul on Jane and received a red card, leaving Flamengo with one player more on the field.

In the final stretch, in the 45th minute, Larissa invaded the box from the right and was pushed, resulting in a penalty kick. She stepped up to take the penalty and, with the coolness of a striker, put the ball in the back of the net, making it 1-0.

The red-blacks will return to work this Monday, as the Brazilian Championship will continue next Wednesday (11), at 15 pm, when Flamengo goes to Pernambuco to face Vitória.
