The game
Despite playing away from home, the Meninas da Gávea were undaunted and started the match looking to attack, posing a threat just three minutes in. Duda charged down the right and passed to Darlene, who, inside the box, set up Sole Jaimes to shoot, but goalkeeper Vivi saved.
Rubro-Negro continued to dominate possession and dominate the action. In the 15th minute, Sole raced down the left and crossed into the box for Crivelari to hit first time. The ball went wide. Despite Rubro-Negro's dominance, the first half ended goalless.
After halftime, the Meninas da Gávea nearly opened the scoring. Following a corner, Sole Jaimes headed the ball to Duda, who also headed it into the net. Rafa Levis managed to clear it off the line, preventing the red-and-blacks from scoring. In the 12th minute, Monalisa received the ball on the right, went to the byline, and crossed into the box. Darlene caught it first time, but the ball went wide.
After so much persistence, Mengão opened the scoring in the 25th minute! After a good triangulation by the red-black attack, Darlene found a beautiful pass to Thaisa, who struck firmly into the back of the net to seal the red-black victory away from home: 1-0.
