A victory filled with emotions! In the penultimate round of the first phase of the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo defeated Avaí/Kindermann 1-0 on Saturday afternoon (19), in Gávea. The red-black goal was scored by Ana Carla, after a beautiful free kick in the final minutes of the match. With the victory, the Meninas da Gávea go into the final round with a real chance of qualifying for the next phase of the championship.

The game

The first half started evenly, and just three minutes in, Flamengo created a threat for the first time. Darlene received the ball on the right side of the penalty area and shot toward goal. The ball sailed just wide of the crossbar.

Avaí/Kindermann dominated possession and threatened the red-and-black team. The Meninas da Gávea, in turn, tried to capitalize on counterattacks to advance quickly. In the 31st minute, Flamengo nearly opened the scoring. After a corner kick from the right, the ball fell to defender Stella, who slipped as she was about to shoot. Ana Carla then received a good pass from Darlene and shot straight at the goalkeeper. On the rebound, Flávia fought back, but the defense cleared.

In the final stretch of the first half, the red-and-black team stepped up their game and began to dominate the action, creating opportunities to open the scoring. In the 42nd minute, Zóio received a red card for a rough tackle on Jayanne, leaving Avaí with a man down.

In the second half, Avaí tried to smother the game in search of the first goal. Down a player, Avaí defended and tried to break out quickly on the counterattack. In the 21st minute, Darlene passed to Jayanne at the edge of the box, who shot low into the corner, but the goalkeeper saved.

Ten minutes later, Maria Peck won the ball back in midfield and passed it to Jayanne, who unleashed a beautiful shot from outside the box. The ball flew just wide of Bárbara's right post. In the 36th minute, Avaí/Kindermann defender Camila tried to clear the ball and nearly sent it into her own net.

In the 41st minute, Mengão scored their relief goal! Ana Carla, with a perfect free kick from the edge of the box, sent the ball into the left corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 1-0. In the final minutes, the red-and-black team managed the result and left the field with a crucial victory for Flamengo's championship ambitions.

Next appointment

The Girls from Gávea return to the field next Thursday (24) to face Ferroviária, at 15 pm, at Fonte Luminosa, for the last round of the Brazilian Women's Championship.
