On Saturday afternoon (26), the Gávea Girls U-20 started the Rio Cup in this category in an impeccable way. With a great performance, especially in the second half, Mengão beat Fluminense 3-0 away from home, at Estádio das Laranjeiras. Anna Luiza opened the scoring and Jamile and Larissa completed the game. 

The game

The match started quite tense and remained that way until almost thirty minutes in, when Larissa received the ball deep, burst into the box, and forced the opposing defense to perform a miracle. Minutes later, Jamile had a good opportunity but was blocked. The red-and-blacks' improvement was evident and was crowned soon after. In the 47th minute, Emilly passed to Anna Luiza, who sped in and chipped the ball over. A stunning goal, and 1-0 for Flamengo before the break.

In the second half, those who watched the match closely saw an overwhelming and dominant Flamengo. Imposing their style, the team created numerous opportunities, with Anna Luiza leading the way. The number 10 took responsibility, guided her teammates, controlled the midfield, and led the attack. An outstanding performance.

Given this scenario, the second goal was only a matter of time, and it almost fell to Cerqueira with a beautiful free kick. In the 15th minute, Jamile was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. The center forward then sent Thainá through on the spot, extending the lead to 2-0. In the final period, Filipe Torres made some changes, the pace remained intense, and Larissa sealed the victory with a beautiful solo effort: 3-0 and three points on her debut.
