The game

The Meninas da Gávea started the match controlling possession, seeking to exchange passes from the defensive half to the attack. On the other hand, Operário closed up well in defense and hampered the red-and-black team's advances, which found little space to create offensive plays. In the 29th minute, Flamengo's best chance of the match so far fell to Djeni. The red-and-black captain took a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball hit the crossbar.

In the final minutes, the red-and-blacks pressed their opponents in search of a goal before halftime. A cross into the box was headed by Núbia, and the goalkeeper made a good save. And the pressure paid off! The Meninas da Gávea opened the scoring in stoppage time. Following a corner, Núbia headed the ball against the crossbar, and on the rebound, Mariana curled in a bicycle kick to score in the Luso-Brazilian match: 1-0.

Still in stoppage time, Mengão extended their lead. Laysa conceded a penalty. Glaucia stepped up to take the penalty and scored the red-and-black team's second goal. With this, Rosana Augusto's team managed to turn their superiority into goals in the final minutes and ended the first half with a healthy lead. It's worth remembering that this is a one-off match in this stage of the Copa do Brasil.

In the second half, the game remained the same: Flamengo on the attack and Operário defending. In the 19th minute, the red-and-black team extended their lead even further. After a cross into the box, Vitória Almeida took the first touch and capitalized on the goalkeeper's error to score the red-and-black team's third goal of the match.

With a comfortable lead, the Meninas da Gávea began to control the game without relinquishing their attack—quite the opposite, in fact. So much so that the fourth goal came in the 33rd minute. Jucinara took a corner kick, and Mariana headed it in from the six-yard box to score her second goal of the match.

And she was unstoppable! In the 40th minute, Djeni lofted the ball into the box, Mariana controlled it with skill and sent it into the left corner of the goal to score Mengão's fifth goal and her hat trick of the match. A minute later, the Meninas da Gávea scored their sixth goal! Mariana prevented the ball from going out of bounds and sent a low cross into the box. Ju Ferreira hit it hard, the ball bounced, went across the six-yard box, and fooled the goalkeeper. A great 6-0 victory for the red-and-blacks, sealing their place in the round of XNUMX of the Women's Brazil Cup.
