On a very inspired morning, Flamengo secured another great victory in the U-20 Women's Carioca Championship and, just like in the U-17 category, came very close to winning the Guanabara Cup. At CEFAN, the Meninas da Gávea thrashed LGD/Karanba 6-0, with goals from Pimenta (3), Ana Laura, Letícia and Mariana Fernandes, and maintained their unbeaten run in the competition. 

The game

Piling up scoring chances from the first minute, Mais Querido opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Anny Marabá beat her marker and provided a beautiful assist for Pimenta, who only had to find the back of the net. In the 15th minute, Diovanna made a beautiful play, and Tuane nearly extended the lead with a header. Soon after, Ana Laura advanced down the right flank and scored a stunning goal, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper: 2-0.

In the 21st minute, Marabá crossed, Tuane tried twice, but it was Pimenta who pounced on the rebound and scored the third (her second of the match). Inspired, the number 9 scored the fourth goal after Tuane challenged the defender and the ball bounced clear in the six-yard box. In stoppage time, the referee awarded a penalty for a handball. Letícia stepped up to take the shot and made no mistake: 5-0.

In the second half, with the outcome practically sealed, Celso Silva's team managed the advantage they had built and added another. Diovanna, who had a stellar performance, passed the ball to Mariana Fernandes in the penalty area. The captain controlled it with her right foot and fired a shot with her left foot to seal the rout and secure the lead: 6-0.
