With a resounding victory, Flamengo defeats Criciúma and advances to the next phase of the Women's Youth Cup.
Flamengo's women's team surged in the second half, winning 7-1 and qualifying for the quarterfinals in first place in their group.
By Romulo Paranhos - inIn the last round of the group stage of the Women's Copinha, Flamengo showed no mercy and delivered a 7-1 thrashing to Criciúma on Wednesday night (10), at CERET. Kaylane Vieira, Brendha (2), Cerqueira, Leane (2) and Sofia scored the goals for Flamengo. With the victory, the Meninas da Gávea secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the tournament in first place in their group.

The game
The Flamengo women's team started the match aggressively against Criciúma. In their first attack, Brendha took advantage of a corner kick and shot towards goal, but the defender cleared the ball off the line. Dominating possession, Flamengo exchanged passes in the attacking third, looking to penetrate the opponent's penalty area.
At the 22-minute mark, Flamengo opened the scoring! Kaylane Vieira received the ball with her back to goal at the edge of the area, turned, and took a shot. The ball went into the bottom left corner of the net: 1-0. Criciúma showed they weren't finished and reacted immediately, leveling the score. After a cross from the right, the ball fell to Thalita who finished into the net: 1-1.
In the final stretch of the first half, the Flamengo women's team regained the lead. Ana Papel took a corner kick that went into the six-yard box, the ball fell to Brendha, who simply pushed it into the goal: 2-1. The Flamengo women went into halftime with a partial victory. With this result, Flamengo is currently qualifying for the quarterfinals in first place in the group.
At the start of the second half, Thalita headed the ball dangerously close to equalizing the match again. The game was quite open, with both teams trying to score to secure qualification. The home team responded immediately and almost extended their lead. Leane received the ball at speed on the left, entered the penalty area and shot across goal, forcing a good save from the Criciúma goalkeeper.
At 20 minutes, Brendha received the ball at the edge of the area, adjusted it to her left foot and unleashed a powerful shot towards the middle of the goal, forcing a good save from Malu. Shortly after, Flamengo extended their lead with a fantastic goal. Cerqueira, who came on in the second half, scored a beautiful long-range shot that went in: 3-1.
Criciúma had barely kicked off when Flamengo's women's team scored their fourth goal, again through Brendha. The number 9 and top scorer of the championship turned inside the area and shot to further extend Flamengo's lead: 4-1.
Even with the rout already underway, the Flamengo women wanted more, and scored their fifth goal in the 35th minute. Kaylane Vieira took a shot from outside the area, the goalkeeper parried it, and the ball fell to Leane, who simply tapped it into the back of the net: 5-1. In the final stretch, the sixth goal came naturally. Sofia received the ball in the area, turned, and fired a shot into the net: 6-1.
Don't lose count, Nation! The Flamengo women's team's hunger for goals was insatiable, and in the 43rd minute, the seventh goal came again with Leane. Emily unleashed a powerful shot inside the area, the ball exploded off the crossbar, and on the rebound, the number 17 was in the right place and headed it into the net, sealing the Flamengo rout with a 7-1 victory.
With this result, Flamengo qualified for the quarterfinals of the Women's Youth Cup in first place in their group and awaits their opponent in the next phase.
