It's impossible to talk about the history of women's soccer without mentioning Cristiane Rozeira. The Olympic Games' top scorer turns 40 this Thursday (15), and her legacy is inspiring. It's passed down from generation to generation. 

Cristiane knows that her current form is the result of a lot of dedication throughout her career. Second-highest scorer in the Brasileirão Feminino with seven goals in ten matches, the forward is a standout for the team in 2025 and demands a high level of performance every day. Everything is going well on the field—and off it too—as her family has adapted to the wonderful city.

"I've taken great care of myself throughout my career, so I'm happy to reach 40 years of contributing directly to the club. It's special to experience this moment within Flamengo. I chose to be here, my family loves Rio, and I feel completely fulfilled. Flamengo is now home," he stated.

When the topic of legacy comes up, my voice breaks. Tears come. It would be strange if it were otherwise; after all, she's one of the greatest athletes in history. And given this, we just need to listen to someone who did so much for a sport that continues to evolve.

"If I said it wasn't a movie playing in my head, I'd be lying. Sport is a transformative agent, and I'm very grateful for everything I've experienced. It's been 40 years, but I'm still breathing. I know my responsibility. It's amazing to receive so much affection from the nation and from fans of other teams. It's recognition, and I want my children to see this in the future and be proud of what their mother did. Maturity has brought me many good things, and I try to help my teammates on and off the field. When I look back and see how much women's soccer has evolved, I realize there's still room for further growth. I'm very competitive, right? We continue working to put the sport we love so much where it belongs. Leaving my legacy here at Flamengo is essential," she said.

The number 11 sweated the shirt in training and is ready for another game, tomorrow (16), against Fluminense, at 21 pm, in Moça Bonita. In good form, Rubro-Negro is currently in sixth place and a victory could bring the team closer to the top spots.

"We turned the tide of the season with Rosana's arrival, and we're motivated. The Brasileirão is a competitive championship, and this reflects the growth of women's soccer. We want more. Always more. Flamengo needs to be at the top, and we'll do everything we can to achieve that," she concluded.
