Qualification guaranteed and three more points in the bag. That's how Flamengo/Marinha left Gávea on Tuesday afternoon (17). With goals from striker Dany Helena and defender Karen, Mais Querido beat Foz Cataratas/Coritiba 2-0 and continues its great form in the Brazilian Women's Football Championship.

With the result, the red-blacks remain in second place in Group 2, with 24 points in eleven games, seven wins, three draws and one defeat.

Flamengo started strong at Gávea. Pressing from the opening minute, it didn't take long for the red-and-blacks to open the scoring. In the 8th minute, Larissa found Ana on the right wing and passed the ball. The player received the ball and delivered a perfectly timed cross to Dany Helena, who appeared well and made no mistake.

Shortly after, in the 13th minute, Karen came in brilliantly from a corner kick and scored a stunning header, extending Flamengo's lead. Foz Cataratas then began to build momentum and pressure Flamengo's defenders, but were unable to break through. Up front, Flamengo's attackers still created good chances, but the score remained 2-0 at halftime.

During the final stage, both sides were evenly matched. While Flamengo created good chances, particularly through Larissa and Dany Helena, Foz/Coritiba threatened goalkeeper Kaká with two excellent opportunities, but were denied by the experienced defender. Thus, the score remained unchanged, and the Meninas da Gávea prevailed.

Flamengo/Marinha will have a two-week break in the Brasileirão Feminino, returning to the field only on August 8th. With only three rounds remaining, the red-blacks will travel to São José do Rio Preto and face Rio Preto, at 15 pm, at the Anísio Haddad stadium.
