The wait is over and Mengão will play again this Saturday afternoon (30)! In the debut of the Women's State Championship, the team led by Celso Silva will face Boavista, at 15 pm, in Gávea. The match will be broadcast on FlaTV. 

The current five-time champion of the competition (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019), Mais Querido will have eight matches in the first phase, called Taça Guanabara. The tournament refers to the year 2020, therefore, the last match played by the club was the 2019 final. On that occasion, a red-black victory over Fluminense by 3 to 1, at Estádio Luso Brasileiro. 

After the last training session, midfielder Bruna Rosa praised the work done by the squad and revealed her perspectives. 

"Expectations are the best possible. We're working hard to achieve our goals, and the first is the Carioca. We know we'll face challenges, but there's confidence and harmony within the group. We want to beat Boavista; after all, it's always important to start well," he said.

Dispute format

All nine clubs face off in a single round, with the top four advancing to the semifinal stage, which will be played in a single match. The final will follow the same format.
