The game
Flamengo started the match by pressuring their opponents, who struggled to break out of their own half. In the 12th minute, Real Brasília opened the scoring. In a quick counterattack down the right, Maria Dias delivered a perfect cross for Nenê to fire home, making it 0-1.
The Meninas da Gávea (Girls from Gávea) applied pressure down the left side of the attack. Leidiane delivered a cross, the defense cleared it, and Thaísa fired a first-time shot. Dida made the save in the center of the goal. In the 24th minute, Mengão leveled the score in the Luso-Brasileiro with an Olympic goal! Leidiane took a corner kick from the right, and the ball went straight into the net to tie the match: 1-1.
A few minutes later, Flamengo turned the game around! Gica made a good play down the left and passed to Cris. The defense tried to clear the ball, but it fell to Cris herself, who slotted it past the goalkeeper to score Flamengo's second goal: 2-1.
The Most Beloved continued to push forward. In the 38th minute, Maria Alves stole the ball in midfield, saw Dida ahead, and took a shot from a long way out. The ball went wide. In a well-balanced first half, the red-and-black team went into halftime with the lead.
