The quest for the title continues! In the Women's Copinha semi-final, Flamengo beat Internacional, coming from behind, 2-1, this Tuesday (16), at the Canindé stadium, and qualified for the final. Top scorer of the competition, Brendha scored twice and sealed the victory for Flamengo. Now, the Meninas da Gávea face Grêmio in the final in search of the bicampeonato (second championship).
The game
The match began with both teams sizing each other up, and Flamengo had the first scoring opportunity just two minutes in. Anna Luiza made a good run down the right flank, entered the penalty area and delivered a low cross. Ana Papel took a first-time shot, but sent it wide. As the game progressed, Internacional began to dominate possession in the attacking third, creating dangerous chances for Condorelli's goal.
The Flamengo women's team continued exchanging passes, trying to reach the Internacional penalty area. At the 30-minute mark, from a free kick just outside the box, Ana Papel hit the crossbar and almost opened the scoring. Despite both teams creating opportunities, the first half ended goalless at the Canindé stadium.
After the break, the match remained quite balanced with intense competition for possession. In the ninth minute, Inter opened the scoring with Joana, who received the ball in the box and fired a powerful shot into the goal: 1-0.
Trailing and needing to overturn the score, coach Filipe Torres made two changes to the Flamengo team. Leane and Nicoli came on for Ana Papel and Kaylane Vieira, respectively. And the substitutions had an immediate effect, as at 25', Flamengo leveled the score. Cerqueira appeared well on the left side of the area and delivered a great pass to Brendha, inside the box and with a nose for goal, to find the back of the net: 1-1.
Three minutes later, the Flamengo women's team went for the comeback, and scored again through Brendha. The center forward received the ball in the box, turned past her marker and unleashed a powerful shot into the top corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance: 2-1. The Flamengo number 9 is the top scorer of the Copinha with eight goals.
The Flamengo team didn't back down and continued to look to extend their lead. In the 36th minute, Cecília made a good play on the right side, cut inside and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the area. The ball crashed against the crossbar. In the final minutes, Flamengo managed to withstand Inter's pressure, securing their place in the final of the Women's Youth Cup.
