The week of training at CEFAN saw some new additions to the professional team: goalkeeper Alice, left-back Diovanna, midfielder Kaylane Júnior, and forward Jaqueline were promoted after playing for Mais Querido in the U-18 Brasileirão. They underwent physical tests under the supervision of fitness coach Saulo de Almeida and then trained on the field every day.
Kaylane was one of the club's top scorers in the club's most important youth competition, with three goals, and stood out significantly. Diovanna, a consistent performer, shone in her original position and performed well playing further forward in the middle. Alice and Jaqueline, despite playing less, also performed well.
"The promotion of youth players to the professional team is something we welcome. Their advancement, which brings a different mentality, brings a new lease of life to the squad. Women's soccer is currently experiencing a very different period than it was five years ago, so experiencing this moment of evolution is a source of satisfaction. It's a source of great pride to see that some of the squad that played in the U-18s are already training in the professional team, such as Ana Portugal, Kaylane Melo, Maria Peck, Naely, and Tainá. It's good to see the continuity of the club's work and project; after all, our motto is that Flamengo produces stars at home. We want to develop good players with the Flamengo spirit. This renewal is the hope for an increasingly strong sport at the club," said coach Celso Silva.
Rubro-Negro's next commitment this season, with a full squad, is the Campeonato Carioca, scheduled for the beginning of October.
