After being eliminated by Corinthians in the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo/Marinha has already turned the key to compete in another competition this season: the Campeonato Carioca. And on Saturday afternoon (21), Rubro-Negro will debut against LBD/Porto Real, at 15 pm, at Cefan. Entry for fans is free.

The current four-time champion (2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018) is in Group E with Liga Barramansense (LBD), Greminho, Campo Grande, and Seleção da Cufa. It's worth noting that the team hasn't lost in the tournament since 2016 and wants to maintain its unbeaten streak and dominance. The last match played was last year's final against Duque de Caxias at Moça Bonita. On that occasion, "Mais Querido" won 5-0, with goals from Flavia Giovanna (3), Dany Helena, and Pamela.

A standout in the conquest, center forward Flavia gave an overview and outlined the main goal:

"I see Flamengo as always strong and prepared for any championship. We work all year to do our best when the matches come. In the Carioca Championship, we have to stay focused, play with joy and intensity, and surprise our opponents in every match. Only then will we reach our goal, which is to win the title again."

Dispute format

Thirty teams are divided into six groups of five. The top two from each advance to the second phase, where another division takes place: three groups of four. In this scenario, the top three advance, along with the second-best overall team. The third phase will be the semifinals, on October 27th and November 3rd. Those who qualify will play the final, again with a home-and-away match, on November 10th and 17th.
