In a duel of the 9th round of the Brasileirão Feminino Sub-20, Flamengo beat Sport, in a comeback, by 4 to 1, on the afternoon of this Wednesday (5), in Gávea. The red-black goals were scored by Carol Martins, Ana Laura (two) and Nina Garrit. Now, Mengão goes to the last round with chances of qualifying.
The game
The match began with the Meninas da Gávea taking the initiative and investing in plays down the wings, especially on the left. In the 17th minute, Flamengo created a threat for the first time. Ana Papel received a well-placed pass, entered the box, and shot powerfully, but the goalkeeper made a good save.
Sport then opened the scoring with Gessica, who took advantage of a corner kick and finished into the corner of goalkeeper Laisla's net: 1-0. After the goal, the red-and-black team began to press their opponents more and create more chances. In the 24th minute, Pimenta headed the ball against the crossbar.
Soon after, Mengão leveled the score with a stunning goal! Carol Martins, at the edge of the box, skillfully hit a free kick into the goalkeeper's left corner to make it 1-1.
It didn't take long for Flamengo to turn the game around with a double Ana Laura. The second, in the 39th minute, came from a pass from Pimenta, who found the free wing to finish. And the third was another stunning goal! The number 2 saw the goalkeeper slightly off the edge and fired a rare shot over the top: 3-1. Flamengo went into halftime ahead.
In the second half, the game slowed down a bit, with few chances created. At a disadvantage, Sport had to push forward, forcing Laisla into two good saves.
In the 29th minute, Mengão extended their lead. After a cross from Kethilyn into the box, Nina Garrit, who came on in the second half, rose unmarked and headed the ball into the net: 4-1.
In the final stretch, the Meninas da Gávea valued possession, controlled the result, and left the field with another victory in the competition. In the final round, the Rubro-Negro needs to win and hope for a stumble from Fluminense to secure qualification for the next stage.
