At home, Flamengo/Marinha beat Ponte Preta 3-0 in the Brazilian Women's Championship

By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo/Marinha took to the field on Wednesday night (12) for the second round of the Brazilian Women's Championship. Playing at home, at the Giulite Coutinho Stadium, in Edson Passos-RJ, the Meninas da Gávea played a great match and beat Ponte Preta 3-0. The goals were scored by Raquel, Carlinha and Flavia.
The game
In the opening minutes, the Meninas da Gávea created a threat. After a corner kick, Ponte Preta's goalkeeper had to intervene to prevent the first goal for the red-and-black team. The "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) had more possession and exchanged numerous passes in the opponent's half. Flamengo/Marinha pressed their opponents in their own half, looking to open the scoring. In the 43rd minute, another dangerous play favored the red-and-black team through Annaysa. Ponte Preta's goalkeeper rebounded the ball to Bruna, who shot straight at the goalkeeper. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
Flamengo/Marinha returned for the second half with the same attitude they had at the end of the first, going after their opponents in search of a goal. With so much persistence, Mengão opened the scoring. In the 24th minute, after a corner kick from Rafa Barros, the ball fell to Raquel, who fired it past goalkeeper Gabi: 1-0. Five minutes later, in the 29th minute, another goal for the Mais Querido. Rafa Barros once again took the corner, and debutant Carlinha capitalized to extend the lead. There was still time for one more! In the 46th minute, a penalty was awarded to the Rubro-Negro. Flávia stepped up to take the penalty and scored the third, sealing Mengão's first victory of the championship.

The Girls from Gávea return to the field next Sunday (16), at 14 pm, to face São Paulo in the third round of the Brazilian Women's Championship. The match will be held at the Giulite Coutinho Stadium.
