In a tough game, Flamengo/Marinha beat Minas Icesp and continue their good form in the Brazilian Women's Championship

By Mariana Sa - inOn Saturday afternoon (13), Flamengo/Marinha hosted Minas Icesp-DF and won 6-3. In a difficult duel in Gávea, Fernanda, Larissa (twice), Rafaela, Gaby and Raíza scored the goals that guaranteed the red-black victory.
With the result, Flamengo returns to third place, with 26 points in eleven games. The next challenge will be on Thursday (18), at 15 pm, against Foz Cataratas/Athletico in Gávea.
The game
The first half saw Flamengo dominate. Seeking attack from the start, the home team ended up breaking through Minas' strong defense, which managed to close in and block the first attempts. However, in the 16th minute, Larissa surged down the right and sent a shot into the box. The defense managed to clear it, but the rebound fell to Fernanda, who opened the scoring. Shortly after, captain Larissa received the ball in the box and sent a beautiful shot into the back of the net.
Applying intense pressure, Mengo came close to extending the lead several times, particularly through Rafaela. Attacking on several occasions, Flamengo suffered only one counterattack. The move, however, resulted in a goal for Minas. At halftime, the score was 2-1 for the red-and-blacks.
In the second half, the pressure began early with two big chances. In the 13th minute, Gaby received the ball and found Ana, who flicked it on, finding Rafaela. The forward wasted no time, firing a classy finish and extending the lead. In the 20th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Minas, which Camila converted.
It wasn't long before Minas Gerais scored again. Despite the opposition's pressure, Ana stepped up quickly and took a shot, but the goalkeeper saved it. Gaby then pounced on the rebound and scored her own. In the 40th minute, Minas Gerais drew level again, making the score 4-3.
Fighting until the end, Larissa once again came out on top, capitalizing on the rebound in a good collective play and scoring Flamengo's fifth goal, her second of the game. To cap it off, top scorer Raíza came on in stoppage time, received a spectacular pass from the captain, and sealed the 6-3 lead.
