It's about knowing the history of the club you support. And, of course, about being a part of it. About seeing your achievements immortalized in the trophy cabinet. It's about being Flamengo.

On Friday (21), the U-20 women's soccer team went to Gávea and had a great experience. The athletes were able to hear all about the traditions of Mais Querido and visited the Flamengo Museum, where they were fully immersed in the red-black culture.

Between an explanation from the Historical Heritage team and interaction with photos, totems, and videos, our girls' eyes lit up. Admiration—present in every detail—gave way to a sense of belonging. Pride in something they built.

The reason is simple. They were presented with the Brazilian Under-20 Championship trophy, won in 2024 with a 7-0 thrashing of Botafogo, on a brilliant and unforgettable night at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium. Number 10 Anna Luiza, scorer of the opening goal that day, tried to sum up the mixed emotions.

"When I looked at the trophy there, I immediately remembered the day my mother said she wanted to come to Rio to visit the Museum. Imagine her seeing the title we won on display with so many others that need no introduction? I get goosebumps just thinking about it. This visit really impacted me, because I got to know more about the club as a whole. It's important to us. I felt even more a part of Flamengo," he commented.

Now a professional player, attacking midfielder Mariana also participated in the action. It couldn't have been any different. Captain of the victory, she scored twice in the final and was a key player. She even made a beautiful gesture, symbolizing the importance of every moment for the sport: the presentation of the jersey used in the final—autographed by the winning squad—as a gift for the Museum's collection.

"For someone like me who's been at the club since 2019, it's an indescribable feeling. Seeing the trophy and realizing that we're all part of Flamengo's history is extraordinary. We ended last year with a flourish, and leaving this jersey here is the certainty that women's soccer has a legacy," she concluded.

The U-20's first matches of 2025 are scheduled for April and May. Our Gávea Girls will certainly remember this afternoon with much love and affection. And they will work hard for new victorious chapters—after all, in the end, it's about being Flamengo.
