The Rio de Janeiro Women's Football Championship already has a start date. On September 29th, the ball will start rolling for eleven teams in the fight for the State title. With the first week off, the Meninas da Gávea, current three-time champions, will debut against Liga Rio das Ostras on October 6th.

The red-blacks hold the titles of the last three editions of the competition (2015, 2016 and 2017) and are fighting to continue winning all the Cariocas since the beginning of the partnership between Flamengo and Marinha. The other participating teams are AA Portuguesa, SE Búzios, Liga Rio das Ostras, CCE Jacarepaguá, Vasco da Gama, ISQL Brasileirinho, Liga de Volta Redonda, Liga de Rio Bonito/Bonitão, Duque de Caxias and ACCEL/Estrela Nova.

The tournament will be played in four phases and will conclude in November. The first phase will be divided into two groups, with six clubs in Group A and five in Group B. The format will be with teams from the first group facing those from the second in a single round.

Group A: Flamengo, Buzios, Brasileirinho, Volta Redonda League, Vasco and Jacarepaguá.

Group B: Duque de Caxias, Portuguesa, Rio das Ostras League, Bonitão and Estrela Nova.

The four top-ranked teams in each group advance to the second round. The matches will be single-leg matches, and the home team will be the team with the best record.

Whoever wins earns a spot in the semifinals, which will feature a crossover between the winners of games 1 and 2/3 and 4. The winning clubs will play the final on neutral ground.

Yellow cards will be reset after the first phase.

Failure to pay the arbitration fee by the home club before the start of the match will result in the match being cancelled, with the opponent being declared the winner by a score of 3-0.

Ten players will be allowed on the bench, and a maximum of seven substitutions may be made, as long as they do not exceed three times per match (including the regular interval).

Each match half will last 40 minutes with a 15-minute break between halves.

2nd round: Rio das Ostras League x Flamengo/Marinha, 06/10 (Saturday), at 15 pm - location to be defined

3rd round: Flamengo/Marinha x Duque de Caxias, 13/10 (Saturday), at 15 pm - CEFAN

4th round: Portuguesa x Flamengo/Marinha, 20/10 (Saturday), at 15 pm - Luso Brasileiro

5th round: Flamengo/Marinha x ACCEL/Estrela Nova, 27/10 (Saturday), at 16 pm - CEFAN

6th round: LRB/Bonitão x Flamengo/Marinha, 03/11 (Saturday), at 16 pm - Bonitão Complex
