Called up at the end of March for the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Team, led by Doriva Bueno, the red-black Fernanda Palermo showed up last Monday (4) for another stage of training aiming at the World Cup, which will be played in Papua New Guinea, between November 13 and December 3. The Women's Team was champion in 2015 of the South American, held in Santos (SP), when it secured a place for the World Cup.The delegation will be based in Pinheiral, Rio de Janeiro, from April 4th to 17th, training in two shifts: 9:15 a.m. and 30:10 p.m. During the training session, there will be two practice matches: on the 10th, at 17:16 a.m., against a U.S. U-10 team, and on the XNUMXth, at XNUMX:XNUMX a.m., against an opponent yet to be determined.
In the World Cup, Brazil opens the competition by facing the hosts of Papua New Guinea on November 13th at 19 pm (7 am Brasília time) at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby, the country's capital. On November 16th, the opponent will be North Korea at 16 pm (4 am Brasília time) at the same venue. In the third round of Group A, the national team plays Sweden at 19 pm (7 am Brasília time) at the PNG Football Stadium.
Two from each group advance to the second round, and Brazil could face Canada, Nigeria, Japan, and Spain. In the last World Cup, the national team was placed in the so-called "group of death," along with the United States, Germany, and China, and was eliminated in the first round.
