Flamengo achieved a great result on Saturday afternoon (3) and maintained its unbeaten run in the Copa Rio Sub-20. Playing at home, the team led by Filipe Torres beat Botafogo 1-0, with a great goal from Leane, and reached six points in the competition.

The game

Dominant as in their debut, Mengão started the match creating good opportunities. In the fifth minute, Anna Luiza made a good play and passed to Larissa, who shot over the goalkeeper. In the twelfth minute, with another excellent finish, Alice crossed, and the defense cleared before Maria Fernanda could convert. On the next play, the forward received the ball alone and shot, hitting the post. With such pressure, the Rubro-Negro opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Leane made a diagonal run, dribbled past two defenders, and fired a powerful shot into the corner: 1-0. 

The goal boosted the team's motivation and intensity in the match, and in the 31st minute, Leane repeated the play and narrowly missed extending the lead. In stoppage time, Anna Luiza played a one-two with Larissa and was blocked in the six-yard box. This was the final act of the first half, which ended with the Meninas da Gávea in the lead.

The second half was extremely even. Goalkeeper Bibi performed very well when required and played a key role in maintaining the result, mainly due to their lead. "Mais Querido" had few chances, but managed the score and earned three more points in the tournament.

Mengão returns to the field on Saturday (10), to face Vasco, away from home, at 15 pm.
