In the opening match of the Under-18 State Championship, Flamengo defeated Duque de Caxias 6-0 at CEFAN. The goals were scored by Maria Peck (2), Thalita (2), Juliana and Yasmin.

Pressing hard from the start, the Meninas da Gávea never gave Duque any space and knew how to take advantage of the opportunities they had.

Coach Marcos Gaspar gave his opinion on the performance and previewed the classic against Botafogo:

"Starting with a win, especially with a big score, is always important. I wasn't completely satisfied with our performance, but there's also the emotional aspect of it, having gone 50 days without playing. Now we're going to turn things around. We're facing Botafogo in the next round, and I hope we can win another game."

Midfielder Juliana stressed the importance of executing the game plan and celebrated the goal scored:

"It was a good game, but it could have been better. We tried to do what Marcos asked, we advanced because of their high-pressing and we debuted with a win. I was also happy with my goal, with a pass from Thalita, and I'll keep working to help the team."

The team's next match in the tournament is scheduled for Saturday (05), against Botafogo, at 15 pm, at CEFAT.
