Being a Flamengo fan means believing until the end! And it was with this motto that Flamengo won, this Saturday (25), the fifth title of the Women's Guanabara Cup. After going behind, the Girls from Gávea came from behind in the last minute to beat Fluminense 2-1, in Laranjeiras, and won the fifth consecutive title of the first round of the State Championship. Leidiane and Valéria Cantuário came on in the final stretch of the second half to score the Flamengo goals. 

Now, Vasco will face Vasco in the Carioca Women's semifinals over two legs. Having finished top of the Guanabara Cup, Vasco will decide their place in the final at home and will have the advantage of a draw. 

The game

In coach Celso Silva's return, Flamengo began the derby valuing possession, exchanging passes to try to attack. As the minutes wore on, Fluminense also began to attack, posing a threat to Vivi Holzel's goal. In the 21st minute, Monalisa crossed into the box and Keke headed the ball into her own net, nearly scoring an own goal. 

The Gávea Girls threatened again in the 32nd minute. Duda Rodrigues received the ball on the right side of the box, cut inside, and took a shot that went just wide of the goal. Vitória Almeida then outpaced her and unleashed a powerful shot. Jany palmed it away for a corner. Glaucia's shot into the box was met by a header from Núbia, who headed it just wide of the crossbar. 

The Tricolor team, in turn, came close twice, posing significant danger. It's worth noting that the poor pitch hampered the red-and-black team's ball control. In the scorching heat of Laranjeiras, the first half ended 0-0. The result gives Flamengo the Guanabara Cup title. 

Early in the second half, Fluminense opened the scoring with Lurdinha, making it 1-0. After the goal, the Meninas da Gávea launched into attack in search of an equalizer. Meanwhile, the Tricolor team closed in on the back line to secure the result, making Flamengo's attacks difficult. 

In the 32nd minute, Djeni drove through the middle and took a shot from the edge of the box. The ball sailed just over the crossbar. In her first attempt on the field, Cristiane attempted a bicycle kick inside the box, but the ball went wide. Another player who had just come on, Leidiane, controlled it in the box and shot toward goal. Jany made a good save and palmed it away for a corner. 

Needing a draw to win the Taça Guanabara title, Mengão went all out on the attack and was rewarded with a goal in the 45th minute. After a corner kick in the box, the ball fell to Leidiane, who made a perfect shot and slotted it into the net: 1-1. 

In stoppage time, the red-and-black myth of believing until the end came onto the field, and Flamengo pulled off a heroic comeback in the last minute! Mariana crossed into the box, and Valéria Cantuário appeared unmarked to head the ball into the corner, sealing the victory and their fifth consecutive Taça Guanabara Femenina title. Now, the "Mais Querido" will face Vasco in the semifinals of the Carioca Championship.
