On a rainy Saturday afternoon (5) in Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo won the classic against Vasco 2-0, in Gávea, in the complement of the sixth round of the Copa Rio Feminina. Ju Ferreira and Valéria Cantuário scored the red-black goals. With 14 points, the Meninas da Gávea took the isolated lead of the competition with one game less.

The game

In the opening moments of the derby, Flamengo dominated possession and exchanged passes in the attacking half. In the 12th minute, Glaucia gained control of the ball and took a shot from the edge of the box. The ball sailed just wide of the post.

With complete control of the action, Mengão opened the scoring at Gávea with a truly stunning goal! Ju Ferreira received the ball in midfield and took a shot. The ball went into the goalkeeper's right corner, where the owl sleeps. A beautiful goal gave the red-and-black team a 1-0 lead.

After the goal, the Mais Querido continued to attack, looking to extend their lead. In the 35th minute, Fernanda entered the box and fired a cross-shot. The goalkeeper made a good save, preventing the second goal for the red-and-blacks. In the next play, Laysa outpaced her opponent and was pulled down by Nath Branco, who was the last defender. The foul was a red card, but the referee opted for a yellow card. Jucinara took the free kick, and the ball hit the post. The first half ended with the red-and-blacks in the lead.

Early in the second half, Cristiane unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, and the goalkeeper made another good save. Flamengo then had another chance to extend their lead. Cristiane passed the ball to Fernanda, who beat her to the pace and fired it into the net. The ball hit the crossbar before going out.

Throughout the match, the Meninas da Gávea continued to control possession and exchanged passes in the attacking half. In the final minutes, Vitória Almeida received the ball in the box and shot low into the corner, but the goalkeeper managed to save it. In stoppage time, Valéria Cantuário collected the rebound in the box and extended Mengão's lead, sealing a 2-0 victory in the derby.
