In the great rivalry classic of the Rio-São Paulo axis, Flamengo ended up being defeated by Palmeiras by 1 to 0 on the night of this Friday (26), at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium, in the 13th round of the Brasileirão Feminino. In the next round, the Meninas da Gávea face Corinthians, away from home.
The game
The match started evenly, with both teams intensely battling for possession. In the opening minute, the Meninas da Gávea had the first chance to open the scoring. Darlene was released at speed, and the Palmeiras goalkeeper came out of the box to try to clear it, but the red-and-black captain managed to dribble past her and risk a shot from a long way out. The ball went wide of the net.
In the 16th minute, Flamengo threatened again. Jucinara, in good position, unleashed a powerful shot, which the goalkeeper parried. The rebound was headed by Sole Jaimes, but the referee ruled the Flamengo striker offside. In the latter part of the first half, Palmeiras began to dominate the attacking field and threaten goalkeeper Bárbara's goal. Neither team went into halftime without finding the net.
In the second half, Bia Zaneratto scored, but the assistant referee flagged the striker for offside. Immediately, the Red-Blacks responded with a quick attack. Leidiane received the ball unmarked, entered the box, and challenged the goalkeeper, who closed the angle and sent it out for a corner.
In the 16th minute, Palmeiras opened the scoring. Bia Zaneratto received the ball at the edge of the box and found Bárbara's left corner: 1-0. Trailing, the Meninas da Gávea were forced to attack, but they failed to finish the play.
The team led by Luis Andrade tried to equalize until the last minute, but ended up suffering defeat in the Luso-Brazilian.
