The Rio de Janeiro Women's Championship (FERJ) has released the schedule and full regulations for the 2020 edition, which was postponed until early this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The competition will begin on Saturday, January 30th, and will feature nine clubs. Five-time consecutive champions, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) will make their debut against Boavista at 15 p.m., at a venue yet to be determined.

In the first stage, known as the Guanabara Cup, Flamengo will face América, Angra dos Reis, Botafogo, Fluminense, Portuguesa, Vasco, and Viva Rio/Pérolas Negras. They will all face off in a single round, with the top four advancing to the semifinal stage, which will be played in a single match. The final will follow the same format.
