On the afternoon of last Friday (25), the CBF carried out the draw for the groups of the qualifying phase of the Brasileirão Sub-17. Flamengo was in group C and will face Atlético Mineiro, Ferroviária and São Paulo. The competition will take place between April 13th and 17th, in Santana de Parnaíba-SP. Twelve clubs will participate.
In this first round, the teams will face off against each other in a single-round format. The leaders and the best runner-up advance directly to the semifinals. From there, it becomes a knockout tournament, with home-and-away matches and home-field advantage. Ready to compete in the tournament for the first time in history, the Mais Querido boasts some well-known names. Kaylane Júnior, a standout since last season, spoke about the preparation and assessed the scenario.
"We're training hard at CEFAN, fully focused on all competitions. Part of the group going to the Brazilian Under-17 Championship is participating in the Unifoot Cup, so we'll arrive with match fitness. This is very important. I see the whole team improving, and I'm sure there will be no shortage of drive and dedication. We want to qualify for the second round, and we have a very clear goal: to place Flamengo among the best teams in the country in this category," he said.
