It was spectacular. Unforgettable. Symbolic.

On Saturday morning (21), Mengão took to the field for the last round of the Copa Rio Feminina Sub-17 to face Bangu. With the title guaranteed, the team led by Filipe Torres played very well, thrashing their opponents 7-0 at Moça Bonita and lifting the tournament trophy. The winning goals were scored by Laís (2), Alice, Isabela Nunes, Kaylane Vieira, Leane and Sofia.

The game

Without losing its edge, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) team quickly opened the scoring. In the 12th minute, Isabela Nunes, who followed a beautiful cross from Emilly, fired home a first-time shot. Kaylane Vieira fired in the second from outside the box. A minute later, after a well-rehearsed play, the ball fell to Sofia, and all she had to do was tap it in: 3-0. Late in the first half, Laís received the ball from Kaylane Vieira, cut past the defender, and extended the lead to 4-0.

In the second half, the celebration was complete. In the fifth minute, Kaylane crossed and Laís scored again, this time with a header: 5-0 Mengão. In the 13th minute, Leane cleared the defense and found the top corner. With the advantage and total dominance in terms of possession, the Meninas da Gávea sealed the rout in the 39th minute with Alice, who dribbled past the goalkeeper and made no mistake: 7-0. After the end of the match, there was much celebration from the athletes on the field and the title crowned with a great performance.
