IT'S CHAMPION! Flamengo drew with Fluminense 0-0 this Saturday (5), in Gávea, and won the unprecedented title of the U-20 Women's Carioca Championship undefeated. Mengão had the advantage of the draw for having had the best campaign in the competition and was crowned champion undefeated, having the most positive attack with 48 goals scored in just six games.

The game

The derby started evenly, with both teams seeking possession. Little by little, the Meninas da Gávea began to put the ball on the ground and exchanged passes in midfield, switching plays from one side to the other in search of space to reach the opponent's box.

In the 12th minute, Flamengo created a threat for the first time. Leane collected the rebound and took a shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper saved it. With the majority of possession, Flamengo dominated the attacking half and surrounded the Tricolor's penalty area. In the 23rd minute, Cerqueira took a free kick from the edge of the box, and the ball went just wide of the goalkeeper's right post.

Defensively, the Meninas da Gávea showed considerable confidence, managing to keep the Tricolor team out of the game. In the 32nd minute, Leane controlled the ball in midfield, advanced through the middle, and took a shot from outside the box. The ball sailed just wide of the crossbar.

In the final minutes, Fluminense dominated possession, attacking a few times, but without threatening Bibi's goal. The first half ended without a goal. It's worth remembering that a draw gives Mengão the title, having performed better in the first phase of the competition.

After the break, Flamengo pushed up their lines and pressured Fluminense's attacking play. The teams battled for possession, and the game at the start of the second half was tight, with no clear scoring chances.

Coach Filipe Torres made changes to his team to strengthen the midfield. Dudinha, Maria Peck, and Alice replaced Raissa Rocha, Maria Peck, and Leane. Needing to score, Fluminense went on the attack and pressured the red-and-black team in their own half.

In the 32nd minute, Mariana took a free kick from the left wing, the ball sailed over the wall, and the goalkeeper jumped to the corner to make the save. In the final minutes, the derby became more exciting as Fluminense went on the attack in search of the winning goal. But Mengão held on and won the Carioca Women's Under-20 Championship. THEY ARE CHAMPIONS!!!
