By Paulo Neto - inOn Friday night, Flamengo lost 3-0 to Palmeiras at Arena Barueri in São Paulo in the fifth round of the Brasileirão Feminino. The championship will now be played from April 4th to 12th, due to the FIFA World Cup.
The game
The match started off well contested, with Palmeiras looking to attack and Flamengo defending well, without giving any space.
At 29', after a corner for Palmeiras, the ball fell to Byanca Brasil, who crossed for Thaís to complete in the area: 0-1.
At 38', Bia Zaneratto received the ball from the left and extended the lead for the opponent: 0-2.
In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo arrived with a shot from outside the area, but the ball stopped at the opposing goalkeeper.
Early in the second half, after a free kick taken by Monalisa from the left, Stella deflected the ball into the corner, forcing the opposing goalkeeper to make a great save and send it out for a corner. The defense cleared the shot.
At 40', Patrícia Sochor hit a cross shot and increased the score: 0-3.
At the end of the match, Duda Rodrigues took a dangerous shot and almost reduced the score for Flamengo, but there was no time for anything else.
