In the round of 1 of the Women's Copa do Brasil, Flamengo lost to São Paulo 0-17 on Wednesday night (XNUMX), at Morumbis, and ended up saying goodbye to the national competition. This season, the Meninas da Gávea still have the Campeonato Carioca Feminino ahead.

The game

The match started evenly, with São Paulo taking the initiative to attack. Flamengo, on the other hand, struggled to break out of their own half and exchange passes, as the opposing defense neutralized the red-and-blacks' attempts.

In the 30th minute, the Meninas da Gávea (Girls from Gávea) had their first shot on goal. Duda Rodrigues capitalized on a defensive error by the Tricolor team and sent a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Carlinha, in the center of the goal, made the save. In the final minutes, the red-and-black team threatened again. Fernanda received the ball at the edge of the box and shot, aiming for the goalkeeper's left corner. The ball sailed just wide of the post. The first half ended goalless and with very few chances created by either side.

In the second half, the game continued with intense competition for possession and little inspiration in the attack. In the 17th minute, São Paulo opened the scoring with a beautiful goal from Duda Serrana, who hit a powerful shot from outside the box, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.

Needing at least a draw to force penalties, Flamengo was forced to go on the attack more. In the final minutes, the red-and-black team went all out in search of a goal. However, their attempts were unsuccessful, and the Meninas da Gávea were eliminated from the competition.
