Flamengo and the Municipality of Maricá have begun talks for a partnership focused on the development of women's football. The club's president, Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap), and Mayor Washington Quaquá discussed the creation of the Flamengo Maricá project, which encompasses all categories of the sport, with special attention to strengthening grassroots development. Recently, Flamengo won all the titles in the Under-20 category: Carioca Championship, Copinha (São Paulo Junior Cup), and Brazilian Championship.
The initiative envisions combining Flamengo's tradition in talent development with investments and public policies developed by Maricá, expanding opportunities for girls and young women who wish to pursue a career in football.
The project also integrates plans to strengthen sport as a tool for social transformation and development, including investments in sports infrastructure.
Through this partnership, Flamengo and Maricá aim to contribute to the growth of women's football, creating an environment of excellence for the development of athletes and consolidating the municipality as an important hub for the sport in the country.
