Flamengo hosted Botafogo this Thursday (14) for the third round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship and was defeated 1-0. The Meninas da Gávea face Sport-PE in the next round of the competition. With the result, the red-blacks are in second place in Group C of the national tournament.

The game

Flamengo started the match pressing, and just eight minutes in, Duda Rodrigues received a beautiful pass from Pimenta and hit the post. Pimenta dribbled just inside the box and was fouled by the Botafogo defender. Leticia took the free kick, but the goalkeeper saved it without much trouble.

In the 23rd minute, just before the timeout, the visiting team launched a quick counterattack, and Teté fired a dangerous shot. A minute later, in a similar play, Bebe received the ball at speed, rolled it to the edge of the six-yard box, and Isabelly shot. Isa Cruz made the save, but the ball ended up hitting Mariana, Mengão's number 7, and into the Mais Querido goal.

In the 32nd minute, Mariana made a beautiful play down the right wing, got past her marker, and crossed for another shot from Pimenta.
