PIn the semifinal of the Women's Super Cup, Flamengo drew with Grêmio 1-1 on Wednesday afternoon (9), at the Luso-Brasileiro stadium. The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack, and within the first minute, Darlene nearly scored. After a defensive blunder, the ball fell to the number 7, who went for a corner but shot wide. Duda then delivered a beautiful pass to Leidiane, who fired a powerful shot that forced the goalkeeper to palm it away for a corner.
After much persistence, Mengão opened the scoring in the 7th minute. A free kick from the right was launched into the box, goalkeeper Lorena misjudged the ball, and it fell to Cida. The defender chipped the ball over the bar to give the Meninas da Gávea a 1-0 lead.
In the 19th minute, Grêmio equalized in the Luso-Brasileiro with Jéssica Soares, who took advantage of the rebound and shot into the goal: 1-1. The Gaucho team's strong marking made it difficult for Flamengo to exchange passes, as they relied on long balls. In the final minutes, Darlene and Duda frequently switched positions to try to confuse the Grêmio defense.
In the 41st minute, Darlene took a shot from the edge of the box and nearly caught the goalkeeper by surprise. In stoppage time, Grêmio's defense clashed, and the ball fell to Darlene, who chipped the ball over the goalkeeper, but Patrícia cleared it off the line. The first half was a lively affair, with chances created for both sides.
The Mais Querido (the most beloved team) came back strong in the second half. Darlene delivered a beautiful pass to Duda, who burst into the box and struck hard at the goalkeeper. In the 7th minute, the ball fell to Monalisa inside the box, who sent it into the net. The assistant referee incorrectly flagged for offside.
The Meninas da Gávea continued to pressure Grêmio, creating one opportunity after another. In the 10th minute, Cris passed to Gisseli in the penalty area; the full-back struck hard, and the ball hit the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Maria Alves had a great chance inside the box. Goalkeeper Lorena rebounded, and the ball returned to the forward, who fired a first-time shot wide.
In the 39th minute, Darlene delivered a beautiful pass to Anny Marabá, who fired a low shot that the goalkeeper made a great save. The match ended in a draw, and the decision went to penalties.
In the penalty shootout, Grêmio prevailed and won 4-3. With this result, Rubro-Negro ends its participation in the competition and is now preparing for the start of the Brasileirão Feminino.
