Flamengo's first experience in a Fut7 competition ended with a fourth-place finish. On Saturday afternoon, the team was defeated by San Diego Wave 5-1 in the semi-final and subsequently lost to América-MEX 1-0 in the third-place match.

The games

In the semi-final, Flamengo opened the scoring with Laysa, but conceded an equalizer at the end of the first half. Upon returning, the North American team took a 3-1 lead and simply managed the result. Flamengo deployed Monalisa as a goalkeeper-forward, created several opportunities, but ended up conceding two more goals and were defeated.

In the third-place match against América-MEX, Flamengo dominated both halves, had numerous opportunities, but were thwarted by an inspired performance from goalkeeper Paños, who made at least three miraculous saves. In addition, Glaucia hit the crossbar and Mariana almost scored with a header. In the final stretch, the Mexican team scored, defended well, and left Beyond Bankard Field with the victory.

Now, the team officially goes on vacation and ends the season with the titles of the Rio Cup and the Carioca Championship.

Hey, Cristiane!

"First, I wanted to say to those who are following us, I have to say that this competition was extraordinary. Americans have a very strong entertainment side, and all of that was very well explained to all of us. They didn't just want participation on the field, but in the event itself. It's a custom, and it was an incredible experience for us. I leave here feeling fulfilled with the experience. Of course, we wanted to win, but everything was worthwhile. I hope we come back in 2026," said the number 11.
