In the debut of the Brazil Ladies Cup, Flamengo beat River Plate 2-0 on Sunday night (12), at the Santana de Parnaíba Municipal Stadium, in São Paulo. Mengão's goals were scored by Darlene and Dani Ortolan, both in the second half. In the next round, the Meninas da Gávea face Palmeiras on Tuesday (14), at 22 pm. The game
In Portuguese coach Luis Andrade's debut, Flamengo began the match valuing possession and exchanging passes in River's midfield. Just four minutes in, after a dangerous play from the Argentine team, goalkeeper Kaká shone and made an excellent save. In the 12th minute, Flamengo had their first good opportunity of the match. Jayanne crossed, Andressa controlled, and Dani Ortolan narrowly missed the goal.

In the 34th minute, the red-and-black team almost opened the scoring. Sorriso took a free kick from the edge of the box, and the ball hit the crossbar. On the rebound, Andressa struck hard, forcing the goalkeeper to make a great save. The first half ended goalless.

In the first minute of the second half, Mengão created a great chance. Jayanne played a one-two with Darlene and sent the ball crashing against the crossbar. The Meninas da Gávea came back better organized and threatened the opposing goal more. And it worked! In the 5th minute, Mengão opened the scoring. Dani Ortolan delivered a beautiful pass to Darlene, who sped into the box, easily dribbled past the goalkeeper, and tapped the ball into the back of the net: 1-0.

With the advantage, the red-and-black team increasingly relaxed in the game and created plenty of chances in attack. In the 8th minute, Jayanne made a beautiful play in the box and hit the crossbar. It's worth noting that this was Flamengo's third shot that hit the post. In the 14th minute, Darlene attempted a well-placed shot, but the goalkeeper palmed it away for a corner.

Mengão then doubled their lead! Dani Ortolan controlled the ball with skill from a cross into the box and unleashed a powerful shot into the goalkeeper's left corner: 2-0. Mengão continued to dominate possession and control the game. In the 41st minute, Jayanne made a fine individual play, leaving three defenders behind, and struck powerfully. River's goalkeeper managed to put the ball out for a corner.

In the final minutes, Flamengo managed their advantage well and left the field with the victory, taking the lead in Group A, made up of River Plate, Palmeiras and Santos.
