On Sunday afternoon (July 26.07), it wasn't just the team of Marcelo Cirino, Guerrero and company that achieved a victory with the Sacred Mantle. Making their debut in the Women's Carioca Championship, Flamengo beat Karanba 4-0, with goals from Maycon, Carol, Pâmela and Roberta.

The team took the field with Luana; Danizinha, Carol, Tânia Maranhão, and Emilião (Dayana); Tati (Ziele) and Diany; Maycon (Bárbara) and Juliana (Jane); Pâmela (Patrícia), and Larissa - the women's state championship allows five substitutions. In the first half, Maycon opened the scoring with a header from Diany's shot from outside the box. The second goal came from a set piece from a corner kick: Maycon crossed and Carol headed in. Before halftime, the Red-Blacks took a 3-0 lead with a beautiful goal from Pâmela. Diany passed the ball to the midfielder, who dribbled past the defender and finished past the goalkeeper. In the second half, Emilião sealed the victory with a free kick from the edge of the box into the top corner.

"The team had countless shots and total control of the game. The opponent tried to impose a stronger marking at the beginning of the match, but Flamengo knew how to control it," said the team's physical trainer, Lieutenant Saulo Almeida.

The state championship is contested by six teams, who face each other in a home-and-away format. At the end of ten rounds, the two highest-ranking teams play a single-game final on neutral ground.
