After partnering with organizations that promote women's soccer in Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo has taken another step toward developing the sport in the state and nationwide. In recent weeks, the projects have joined forces to form a selection of girls under 15, with the help of professionals from the coaching staff (both youth and professional), for the Unifoot Revolution Cup, which begins next week.

Since 2021, the club has been taking action to promote sports and will expand its support network. The athletes continue to train normally in the places where they took their first steps, but are being monitored weekly by the club. Their debut will be on Wednesday (2), at the Vila Olímpica in Duque de Caxias, against Projeto Loirinho (Under-15 A) and Rio de Janeiro (Under-15 B).

As part of its work, Mais Querido will soon host an event for teachers and volunteers from the institutions at CEFAN. Coaches Celso Silva and Luis Andrade will be in attendance, as will other staff members, including physical trainers Romário de Oliveira and Saulo de Almeida. According to coordinator André Rocha, this initiative represents a milestone in its history.

"A little over a year ago, we began this support, which has been taking shape, and in 2022, we're making progress on important aspects, such as talent detection in the technical area, with closer monitoring of the girls and sporadic training. Now, at the end of the year, we'll compete in the Unifoot competition with the selected athletes, and then we'll have an internal tournament between the teams for socializing," he said.

While the Gávea Girls prepare for the same tournament, the professional team continues training hard for the first leg of the Carioca Feminino final, against Botafogo, at Caio Martins.
