Flamengo beats Cuiabá 2-0 and secures its second victory in the Brazilian Women's Under-18 Championship

Pimenta and Diovanna scored the goals in the red-black victory

In the second round of Group A of the Brazilian Women's Under-18 Championship, Flamengo beat Cuiabá 2-0 on Thursday afternoon (08), at CT do Sorocaba. The goals of Mais Querido were scored by Pimenta. 

The game

The match began with the Meninas da Gávea taking the initiative to attack, exchanging passes in the attacking half. In the 32nd minute, Kaylane Souza made a good play down the left and crossed into the box. Cuiabá's defense cleared the ball, and on the rebound, Letícia shot wide. With greater possession and a few chances created, the Mais Querido dominated the first half and almost went into halftime ahead. 

At the start of the second half, in the seventh minute, Mengão opened the scoring after the referee awarded a penalty. Pimenta took the kick and put Flamengo ahead: 1-0. In the 21st minute, Flamengo extended the lead! Diovanna took a corner kick and the ball went in: 2-0. 

Next appointment

The Meninas da Gávea return to the field next Saturday (10) to face Minas Brasília, at 10:30 am, at CT do Sorocaba, for the third round of the group stage of the Brazilian Women's Under-18 Championship.
