Flamengo partners with the Zico 10 Women's Football Training and Development Center
The project linked to the nation's greatest idol is the first to be made official by the club, which will work on other fronts aiming at development

With an eye on the widespread adoption of women's soccer nationwide, Flamengo has launched a support network for projects in the city of Rio de Janeiro focused entirely on the sport. In this first phase of implementation, six projects will be supported, starting with Zico 10, located in CFZ.
Last week, coordinator André Rocha visited the site, presented a Sacred Mantle to coordinator Simone Lourenço, and chatted with some of the girls and their guardians to explain how it will work. After the conversation, André watched the training on the field.
"We aim to promote the sport, and starting with Zico 10 is great. The main focus, initially, is on improving the quality of the work. The teachers will meet with the professionals who work with us daily to learn about the methodology we apply and will be able to watch the teams train. On the other hand, the members of the coaching staff will constantly monitor the progress of the girls involved in the project. We hope to further encourage women to play women's soccer," she stated.
"It's very important to have Flamengo's support for our project. We are a Training and Development Center, so this technical, human, logistical, and professional support will greatly enhance and strengthen the growth of women's soccer. This Flamengo initiative is crucial. The more clubs do this, the more the sport will solidify. Every time we go to CEFAN, there's a positive atmosphere and a warm welcome from the professionals. This is invaluable, and we hope this is just the beginning of a successful partnership," said Simone.
About Zico 10
The Zico 10 Women's Football Training and Development Center began in 2020, located at the Galinho de Quintino Training Center. The project is well-established, participates in federated championships through partnerships, and serves girls aged 12 to 20. The goal is to develop the athletes thoroughly so they can develop, including in their academic field, with the goal of enabling the girls to pursue careers beyond soccer. Another pillar of the project is the training of the professionals involved.
