With a full schedule at the youth and professional levels, Flamengo continues to work hard off the field, focusing on the expansion of women's soccer in Rio de Janeiro and across the country. The latest development is the officialization of a new partner organization: Garotas Amam Futebol, based in the Jardim América neighborhood and holding its training sessions at Campo do Relógio.

André Rocha, the sport's coordinator, and Antonio Bezerra, its supervisor, visited the venue last week and presented a Sacred Mantle to Evandro Filho, responsible for the entire organization. After the brief ceremony, André chatted with the girls, and the two Flamengo officials watched a sort of championship, with the athletes divided into four teams.

"Today we take another big step toward the growth of the club's women's soccer team by officially supporting another center that serves many girls who love playing soccer. Our commitment is to keep these girls' dreams alive and give them all the opportunities to be seen," said André.

The Mais Querido and Garotas Amam Futebol had already crossed paths in 2019, when the girls watched the Campeonato Carioca final at Luso Brasileiro. On that occasion, Mengão defeated Fluminense 3-1 and became the five-time champion of the competition. However, it was in 2021/2022 that the union was cemented. Today, six players from the project are part of Mengão: goalkeeper Isabella, defender Fabiane, midfielders Jamille and Rayane, and midfielders Giovanna and Laís.

"Giving up was never an option for us. It's not just about my dream, but about the dream of all the girls. It's an honor to have Flamengo as a partner in our journey, and we're thrilled. Our project already has some athletes at the club, and we thank you for all your trust," stated manager Evandro.

About Girls Love Football

Founded in June 2019, Garotas Amam Futebol is a women's soccer project serving girls aged 8 to 17. The project focuses on preparing athletes to play, initially in the youth ranks and later on professional teams. Training sessions are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It's worth noting that a team has been formed to compete in amateur competitions. In other words, recruitment is one of the main pillars.
