The Girls from Gávea debuted in the Campeonato Carioca on the right foot. In a match held at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, the club's social headquarters, Flamengo thrashed Boavista 10-0. Raquel, Flávia (2), Rafa Barros (2), Jayanne, Ana Carla, Lu Meireles and Cida scored for Mengão, who also had an own goal.

The game

The Meninas da Gávea started the match with a strong defense against Boavista, who didn't threaten Kaká's goal in the first half. In attack, the red-and-black team created a dangerous attack, exploiting a high-line style of play and cornering the opponent in their own half.

It didn't take long for Mengão to open the scoring: in the seventh minute, Raquel took advantage of Ana Clara's cross and headed it into the back of the net. In the 11th minute, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) had another chance. Flávia beat the defender and skillfully chipped the opposing goalkeeper, but the assistant coach was already raising the flag to indicate offside. In the 15th minute, Aryane threatened on the left, but the ball hit the outside of the net.

At 21, in a play involving a one-two punch between Flávia and Ana Carla, the number 9 had another chance to extend the lead. But in the very next play, the duo managed to provide another goal: the striker scored with a header, following a corner kick from the captain and number 10.

The 3-0 victory came in the 27th minute: Rafa Barros capitalized on a Boavista defensive error, challenged the goalkeeper, and prevailed. In the 34th minute, Flávia scored again, again with a beautiful pass from Ana Carla, sealing the victory with an undisputed rout: 4-0. But there was still much more to come. Just a minute later, an own goal further extended the already impressive lead. Before the end of the first half, Raquel and Aryane came face-to-face with the goalkeeper and came close to scoring the sixth.

In the second half, Flamengo's first big opportunity came seven minutes in from a corner kick. It was the prelude to Jayanne's sixth goal, who, moments later, spun around her marker and fired a shot into the left corner.

With the Mais Querido already in a huge lead, the game became more measured. Even so, around the 25th minute, Mengão threatened twice more from corner kicks, only to be stopped by the post and a great save from Boavista's goalkeeper. In the 31st minute, Ana Carla scored hers, cutting past the defender and firing into the back of the net: 7-0. On the next play, Rafa Barros scored his second and Flamengo's eighth.

At 40, Lu Meireles appeared free to increase the lead: 9-0. In the final moments, Cida was responsible for the tenth goal.

And now?

The red-black team's next match will be on Saturday (6), at 15 pm, at CEFAN, against Pérolas Negras. The match will be valid for the second round of the Guanabara Cup. The four best clubs from this first phase will qualify for the semifinals.
