On Wednesday afternoon (22), the Girls from Gávea of ​​the U-20 team beat America 4-0, at Giulite Coutinho, closed the classification phase with a 100% success rate and guaranteed themselves a place in the final of the Copa Rio of the category, which will be played at the weekend, against Botafogo. The winning goals were scored by Lorena, Mariana (2) and Nina Garrit.

The game

Having practically qualified, Mengão took the field determined to win at any cost and opened the scoring in the 23rd minute: after a corner kick, Núbia deflected it, and Lorena fired a cross-shot. After the goal, the team continued to press, creating good chances through Gica, Diovanna—who hit the crossbar—and Mariana. Despite their efforts, the score remained that way until halftime.

Upon returning, Celso Silva made some changes, and the team played exclusively on the opposing team's half. In the seventh minute, Mariana came on alone, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and simply tapped the ball into the net: 2-0. The next minute, Nina Garrit struck from outside the box and scored a stunning goal: 3-0.
