It's a champion! In the Rio de Janeiro final of the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship, Flamengo thrashed Botafogo 7-0 at the Luso-Brasileiro tournament, winning the competition for the first time. Anna Luiza, Mariana (2), Núbia, Barraca, and Pimenta (2) scored the goals in the team's resounding victory. It's worth highlighting the excellent collective performance of the Meninas da Gávea, who dominated the entire match and deservedly built up the impressive score.

The game
The Meninas da Gávea started the match by putting pressure on their opponents. Just five minutes in, the red-and-black team created their first significant opportunity. Mariana found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who managed to save. On the rebound, Anna Luiza shot toward goal, but Botafogo's defense cleared it.

When Alvinegro gained possession, Flamengo pushed up the defense and pressured their opponents, managing to quickly recover. In the 16th minute, Emilly took a corner kick, and the ball hit the crossbar. Almost an Olympic goal!

After so much pressure, Mengão opened the scoring in the Luso-Brasileiro with a stunning goal! After a corner kick in the box, the ball fell to Anna Luiza, who unleashed a first-time bomb into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 1-0.

The Meninas da Gávea extended their lead in the 35th minute. Núbia, in defense, sent a beautiful pass to Mariana, who drove into the box, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and shot low to make it 2-0. The red-and-black team went into halftime with a good lead.

In Flamengo's first attack of the second half, Mariana was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Defender Núbia stepped up to take the kick and slotted it into the corner to extend the lead to 3-0.

Needing to make up for lost time, Botafogo began to push forward more, but the red-and-black team managed to close down the spaces and fend off the danger. In the 21st minute, Mengão scored the fourth, again through Mariana. The number 7 and red-and-black captain received the ball on the left side of the box and fired it past the goalkeeper: 4-0.

The fifth red-and-black goal came in the 29th minute. Barraca took a free kick from distance, the ball hit the grass and went in between the legs of the black-and-white goalkeeper: 5-0. In stoppage time, Pimenta received the ball in the box and shot without a chance for the goalkeeper, scoring the sixth red-and-black goal.

And there was still time for one more! In the 52nd minute, Pimenta scored his second goal of the game and Mengão's seventh from the penalty spot, sealing the unprecedented title of the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship. WE'RE CHAMPIONS!!!
