The Mais Querido Women's Football team had not played an official match since July 24, and the return to the field could not have been better. On Saturday afternoon (2), Flamengo debuted in the Women's Carioca Championship by beating Duque de Caxias 5-0, in the first round of the Guanabara Cup, in a match held at CEFAN.

The game
The Girls from Gávea started with everything, as soon as Mengão kicked off the ball they took control of possession, and just two minutes into the game, in the first attack, Kaylene gave a beautiful pass to Darlene, who finished first time with great skill into the back of the net: 1x0.

The early advantage didn't relax the red-and-black team, who soon sought to extend their lead. In the 16th minute, Dani Ortolan received a sweet pass, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and hit a cross into the back of the net: 2-0.

After the timeout, Darlene fed Jayanne, who burst into the box and forced a great save from the Duque de Caxias goalkeeper. Darlene then shot dangerously.

In the 34th minute, after a throw-in, Rafa Barros crossed from the right and Dani Ortolan, opportunistic, scored her second goal of the match, her seventh of the season, equaling Jayanne in the team's top scorer tally in 2021: 3-0.

In the final stretch of the first half, there was still time for the red-and-black team to create two more dangerous chances. In the 40th minute, Darlene forced another great save from the opposing goalkeeper with a beautiful shot, and in the final play, after a pass from Cida, Rafa Barros ended up shooting wide.

In the second half, Núbia and Pimenta, players from Mengão's youth academy, came on. Flamengo immediately threatened with a Darlene play. In the third minute, Pimenta made her first appearance, finishing on goal.

Next, Duque de Caxias threatened for the first time in the match. Félix burst into the box and shot against the post; the rebound was blocked by Núbia. In the seventh minute, Duque de Caxias returned to action. Dani Ortolan's pass from the right blocked Pimenta's shot.

In the 10th minute, Darlene delivered a beautiful three-finger pass to Pimenta, who headed it into the net. It would have been Mengão's fourth goal, but the referee ruled the red-and-black forward offside.

With the addition of Maria Peck and Diovanna, Flamengo's lineup included five players from the Mais Querido youth academy.

The Gávea Girls continued to dictate the pace of the match. In the 28th minute, after a run by Darlene on the left, Sorriso received the ball to score Mengão's fourth goal of the match. It was a rout!

And Sorriso didn't stop there. Five minutes later, after a one-two pass just inside the box, he finished with excellent skill to make it five for Rubro-Negro: 5-0.

Flamengo still looked to attack in the final minutes, but Sorriso's second goal gave the final numbers to the match.
